I was born into an imperfect world in which l was a minority. Yet, I am of all races, who survived the public educational gauntlet of lies. Born as a son of no man, in a country that serves no one. Survivor of "War" in the street to the "War" far away. Survivor of physical and psychological ailments, deferral of a home and an endlessly wondering minstrel. A romantic without romance, yet I press on as the worst was in my past! This may have been the best comparative to most peoples lives... I was raised in New York City “Harlem / Washington Heights.” Started playing piano at five, at 12 my love for the Guitar dominated my music.
The Big Band era, Count Basie, The Duke, Nate King Cole, Dizzy, DoWop, Motown, Mercury Records. Songs from Cousin Brucie’s Radio Station, 1950’s to 1960’s. There was Rock & Roll, Blues, Latin and then the Village.
I find inspiration all around me. I try to make my music I create representative of myself and my generation. I love the places I've been that most people don't get the chance to see or give a second glance.
